Rayagada, August 28 (Odisha.in) The death toll due to cholera and diarrhea has gone up to 93 Tuesday with officials still fighting to bring situation under control in Orissa’s three districts of Rayagada, Koraput and Kalahandi.
While the number of deaths increased to 49 in Rayagada with the latest one the death of two years old boy on Sunday, it has gone up to 34 in Koraput and 6 in Kalahandi district” a senior health department official here told Odisha.in.
26 villages under Kashipur block in the district of Rayagada are worst hit. The disease has attacked at least 2328 people in this district during past two weeks. The total people treated in this district over past one and half month were 6,000, he said.
On Tuesday about ten patients were admitted in the government hospital at Kashipur, a local health official said. However the situation under control although the treatments of affected are going on, he said.
