Cuttack, August 24 (Odisha.in) Orissa police Friday begun its search to arrest state director general of police (home guard) B.B.Mohanty and his absconded son Bitti Hotra Mohanty.
The state police launched the search after a policeman of Rajasthan in the morning handed over arrest warrants against Mohanty and his son to Cuttack district collector Sujata Rout here.
Police has begun the search after Rout directed district superintendent of police Soumendra Priyadarshi to execute the warrants.
The arrest warrants were issued after a court in Rajasthan rejected B.B.Mohanty’s petition seeking to convert a non-bailable warrant against him into a bailable one.
B.B. Mohanty is accused of shielding his absconded son. A court in Rajasthan had sentenced his son Bitti to seven years imprisonments for raping a German tourist in Alwar.
He had gone on parole in November 2006 from jail in Rajasthan but did not return.
