Kendrapada, August 24 (Odisha.in) A senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) allegedly attacked a city journalist of a vernacular daily Friday at Kendrapada town, police said.
Paresh Chandra Das who works as a correspondent of ‘Pragatibadi’ in the district has lodged a complaint at the local police station, head of the Kendrapada police station Santun Dash told Odisha.in.
He alleged that Duryodhan Sahoo who is also the district president of BJP attacked him with out any provocation.
We have registered a case against Sahoo and investigating into the matter, Dash said.
District journalists’ association in an emergency meeting condemned the incident and demanded immediate arrest of the culprit.
District president of Orissa Gana Parisad and Kendrapada legislature Utkal Keshari Parida, district congress president, Debendra Sharma, district secretary of CPM (Communist Party of India (Marxist) Umesh Chandra Singh have also condemned the attack.
