Kendrapada, August 23 (Odisha.in) A 56 –year –old lawyer, Yudhistar Panda of Kendrapada has sought monthly alimony of three thousand from his wife who works as a teacher in a government high school claming himself to be invalid in a road accident six months ago.
The teacher allegedly got his right hand and leg fractured in a road accident. He claimed himself to be unmovable and become lame despite surgery.
“Doctors advised me to spend at least two lakh rupees for another surgery in Mumbai. I became a penniless after spending money in my first surgery and maintaining my family members”.
“I urged my wife Laxmipriya Panda umpteen times to provide me two lakh for my surgery. But she did not pay any heed to it and that is why I filed the case in the family court , Cuttack for a monthly alimony from her three thousand rupees”, Panda told Odisha.in.
But the wife of the lawyer has alleged in the court that her husband‘s surgery was a successful one and he works as a lawyer in Kendrapada and Pattamundai court.
“The president of the Kendrapada district lawyer’s association has also issued a certificate to me recently and mentioned in the certificate that my husband is physically fit to support himself for his maintenance and treatment”, his wife Laxmipriya Panda said.
But, Yudhister Panda has challenged the certificate issued by Surendra Nayak the president of the district lawyers’ association.
“I filed a petition on last Wednesday to the president of the lawyers’ association and urged him to cancel the certificate issued by the president to my wife as the association has no jurisdiction and power to issue such types of certificates”, said Yudhister Panda.
