Kenojhar, August 18 (Odisha.in) Police claimed to have identified all the ten persons involved in the shooting of congress legislature Dhanurjaya Sidhu in Orissa’s Joda-Barbil mining area on February 26 this year in which Sidhu survived, official said Saturday.
Unidentified persons had shot at Sidhu’s vehicle when he was returning home with local Sarpanch elect Bhagban Majhi near Seranda village. They fired at the legislature 15 round with 9 mm pistols from close range and left the place assuming him dead.
The legislature however survived. Police had arrested three persons Nitesh Bille and Pinki in this connection who disclosed the involvements of others, superintendent of police Ghanashyam Upadhyaya told Odisha.in.
According to him Ashutosh Sukla the main accused of the case came to the district of Keojhar in 2003 to earn money through business.
He purchased six tippers through finance and started transporting iron ores from Kasia mine under Barbil police station area. The vehicles were running through Ridhi Siddhi Transport of Rourkela.
Sukla was not pulling on well with the MLA and had quarrel in the past. To teach the MLA a lesson Asutosh decided to kill him.
He contacted one of his close friends Jayaprakash Sharma known as JPS of Varanashi in Uttar Pradesh and asked him to hire some criminals to execute the crime. On 16 th April 2007 JPS arrived from Varanasi with his group at Barbil and start preparation.
Bille and Pinki who were earlier known to Asutosh provided all logistic supports and information. They also provided them the detail of Sidhu.
After committing the crime Ashutosh and his associates left a motor cycle provided by Bille and escaped in the night to Varanasi in a pickup Van.
We are yet to arrest Ashutosh. However his tippers have been seized by police, he said.
