Balasore, August 16: A youth in Orissa’s Balasore district pulled two bikes through his fully groomed mustache eyeing to create record and get his name registered in a record book.
While people in the country were agog with celebrations to mark the 60th anniversary of Independence Day, 34-year-old Siba Prasad Mallick of Villa village under Bahanaga block in the coastal district was busy preparing himself for the feat.
Once a vegetable vendor, Siba for the first time on Wednesday, he drew crowd by pulling two bikes though his moustache for kilometers together.
Tying a national flag on his forehead, he pulled the bikes from Gopalpur market to Gopalpur College covering a total 2-km distance continuously.
“I want to see my name registered in the Guinness Book of World Records. I must do what it really requires. I will continue my mission till I achieve the milestone,” Mallick who has been inspired by TV shows for the feat, says.
“On July 5, I first started by pulling a cycle. Four days after I pulled a bike and now I pulled two bikes. I never experience pain during the pulling of bikes,” Mallick, who has been growing moustache since last seven years, adds.
Mallick, who ekes out a living as a daily wage labourer, only uses mustard oil and some times coconut oil to keep his moustache long and strong. He never experiences pain during pulling and use any medicine for sporting the huge moustache about two feet long.
Interestingly, the youth was not sporting moustache since his teen as he used to act as a female artist in village dramas. I have acted as the lead female role in at least 400 dramas. I stopped acting just seven years back,” he maintained.
Siba Prasad, who has studied up to Class-I, lives with wife, mother and four children – two sons and two daughters.
