Bhubaneswar, August 15 (Odisha.in) After harping on development of industries for past many years, Orissa Chief Minisrer Naveen Patnaik urged upon the people to participate in making Orissa prosperous, “recording developments in various sectors, particularly in agriculture.”
Addressing the State level Independence Day parade at Bhubaneswar Patnaik said that efforts are being made to make Orissa rich in industrial sector , agriculture sector
for all round development of the people.
Emphasising in development of agriculture, the Chief Minister said, as agriculture is the mainstay of the people; his Government is giving according priority for development of agriculture.
“We are implementing new package for our farmers.” Cash crops like vegetables, flowers, fruits, fishery, sugarcane and cotton cultivation which are of great interest of the farmers would be encouraged. The concept of contract farming has also been introduced in many areas.
“ We have also initiated the process of providing irrigation facility to 35 per cent of agricultural land of all the blocks, “ he added.
Highlighting the steps for rural development, Patnaik said ,” in order to provide drinking water through pipeline to the rural people “ Jaaldhara” scheme has been launched, next year about one thousand villages will be provided with drinking water in this scheme.”
Emphasising on industries and mining sectors, the Chief Minister informed that by now 25 industries have started production. He said through industrialization there would be tremendous change in the economy of the state.
He said that the State Government has succeeded in setting up of an ultra modern IIIT at
Bhubaneswar.
The Chief Minister said that the people of Orissa would take benefit of various schemes and achievements of the Government and it can become one of the most advanced state.
He emphacised that maintaining transparency in all levels, can build up a healthy society and a prosperous Orissa.
