Bhubaneswar, August 13 (odisha.in) Orissa is not well equipped with technology to face the Maoists who are active in state’s 11 of 30 districts, a top state police official said Monday.
Maoists are the biggest security threat to the state. They are attacking policemen with modern weapons.
They are not only equipped with modern weapons like AK 47, they are also using RDX, landmines and even some conventional bombs like nitro-glycerin, trinitrate, RDX C3, C4 and TNT, he told odisha.in.
Large numbers of our policemen working in the maoists areas are so ill equipped that they even dont have vehicles to reach a spot soon after an incident happens.
Even we are using the conventional way of detecting bombs, which has been outdated and now needs up gradations.
