Bhubaneswar, August 13 (Odisha.in) Heavy to very heavy rainfalls are likely to occur in some isolated places of Orissa during next 48 hours, meteorological office here said Sunday evening.
A Well Marked Low Pressure Area has formed over North-West Bay of Bengal off Orissa-West Bengal coast. The system is likely to be concentrated into a Depression, S Satapathy of the meteorological office said.
Under its influence rain or thundershower likely to occur at most places over the state. Heavy to very heavy rain likely to occur at a few places with extremely heavy falls of more than 25 cm, he said.
Squally surface wind from Westerly direction with speed reaching 45-55 kilometer per hour are likely to prevail along and off state coast. Sea condition will be rough to very rough.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea, he said. Local cautionary signal number three have been hoisted at Paradeep, Chandbali, Puri and Gopalpur port, he said.
