Bhubaneswar, August 10 (Odisha.in) An activist of a city non government organization was arrested for offering bribe of Rs.30, 000 to the Principal Secretary to Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the State Secretariat Friday.
“Dipti Prakash Mohapatra who claimed to be the secretary of Association for Health Education and Development, (AHEAD) was arrested and is being interrogated” district superintendent of police Amitabh Thakur told Odisha.in.
Mohapatra allegedly entered the office of the Chief Minister at the 3rd floor of the state secretariate without any prior appointment and could manage an audience with the Principal Secretary to the chief minister Bijoy Kumar Patnaik through a request slip at about 11.15 AM.
Mohapatra allegedly requested Patnaik to do his job pending before him and offered an envelope containing bundle of Rs.30, 000.
Patnaik became furious and called the security personnel in charge of the Secretariat who later handed Mohapatra to local Capital Police station, Thakur said.
The incident happened when the Chief Minsiter Naveen Patnaik was absent in his office.
