Bhubaneswar, August 10 Heavy rain forecast Friday has triggered fear among the residents of coastal Orissa who are yet to recover fully from the recent floods that hit their region past weeks.
Meterological office here has predicted that heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur in the state in next 24 hours and heavy to very heavy rains in some part of the state in next 48 hours.
Latest satellite imageries and synoptic observations indicate that a fresh low pressure area has formed at 0830 hours IST of today 10.08.2007 over North West Bay of Bengal off Orissa West Bengal coast, an official of the Bhubaneswar meteorological office told Odisha.in.
As a result of which rains or thundershower are likely to occur at many places over coastal Orissa and a few places over Interior Orissa during next 24 hours, he said.
Heavy to very heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places over state’s coastal districts during next 48 hours, he said. Fishermen are advised not to venture into sea, he said.
