Bargarh, August 10 (Odisha.in) The district collector at Bargarh Thursday honored four freedom fighters in Panimora village on the occasion of Kranti Divas on August 9.
Panimora village in the distrct of Bargarh has had a history of struggle. Thirty-two people were jailed during the 1942 ‘Quit India’ movement, of which only four are alive.
They are Chamaru Paradhia, Dayanidhi Naik, Madan Bhoi and Jitendra Pradhan. Pardhia is now 96, the oldest among them.
The district collector Harihara Panigrahi honoured them in the presence of former state minister and local legislature Prakash Chandra Debta and other eminent persons of the locality.
