Keonjhar , August 6 (Odisha.in) Local excise department officials in Orissa’s Keonjhar district has seized 42 hemp (ganja also known as marijuana) plant and 1.37 Kg hemp (ganja) from two different places, official said Monday.
A team led by excise supertendent Ashok Tripathy raided a house in Kadagarh village about 30 kms from district headquarter and found the hemp plants from the premises of Nilambar Sahu, Anirudha Sahu, Gopal Amant, TRripathy told Odisha.in.
The cost of these plants will be above 3.15 lakh. Similarly the team raided in Magurugadia in keonjhar Town and seized 1.37 quintal hemp and arrested one Khurshid Ahmed under section 20(B) of NDPC Act 1985.
The cost of seized hemp is about 20.3 lakh” he said.
