Bhubaneswar August 03 : The main opposition Congress Party Friday sought dismissal
of Naveen Pattnaik government and imposition of Central Rule in Orissa .
“Since there is total non-governance, corruption galore, life and property of the people are not safe and above all the ruling alliance partner BJP’s broadside against the Chief Minister, it is a fit case for President’s rule in Orissa”, said the Leader of opposotion and former Chief Minister J.B.Patnaik.
“It is high time that the centre should intervene and dismiss the state government led by Naveen ,who had no moral right to continue in office and is misfit to rule the state”, said the Leader of Opposition.
“A memorandum containing all the justification of the dismissal of the BJD-BJP coalition government led by Chief Minsiter Patnaik and imposition of President’s rule would be submitted soon”, the Senior Congress leader said, while addressing a press conference here.
The BJP vice President, Jual Oram had made scathing attack on the Chief Minister on Thursday at Bonai about 350 KM from the state capital Bhubaneswar accusing him of receiving kick-backs from multinational companies like Posco, Vedanta and Mittaland demanding CBI inquiry on the isssue while addressing a rally being organised to protest against the move to handover the Khandaadhar Iron Ore Mines.
Besides administrative failure and corruption, the foeticides and fake medicine racket have exposed the hollowness of the state government and nexus with the drug mafias and criminal neglect on the part of the Chief Minister not acting upon the letters by his Health Minister Durodhan Majhi over the spurious drug racket.
Though the Health Minister had alerted year ago the existence of inter-state link in the fake drug racket and urged for proper inquiry, the Chief Minister did not bother to take any action.
Even the statutory meeting of Drug Control Committee was not convened once during last four years, he said adding, the ministers are “helpless creatures in the cabinet”
